Overview of Course Work
PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENCES
Public health is the science and art of creating healthy communities through education, research and promotion of healthy lifestyles. Classes will include an introduction to public health and will build upon science, statistics and general education classes. The public health sciences careers include but are not limited to, patient health navigator, health education outreach, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services, environmental health, behavioral health, and occupational health. Skill competencies include knowledge of public health models, health risk assessments, health screenings, health promotion programming, and surveillance of disease outbreaks in a community.
